For clients outside these areas, we may still be able to provide our services depending on the location and specific service requirements. In such cases, we will provide a quote that includes any necessary travel costs.

At The Wheelbarrow Gardener, we believe that personalized service is essential for providing exceptional gardening results. This ensures continuity of care and allows your gardener to develop a deep understanding of your unique preferences, design concepts, and aspirations. Your personal gardener will work closely with you to create an outdoor space that perfectly reflects your style and meets your needs, while also promoting the health and sustainability of your garden.
Having a dedicated gardener offers numerous benefits, including consistent, customized care tailored to your property's specific needs. You can build a relationship with your gardener, enabling more effective communication and collaboration on gardening projects. With a consistent point of contact, you can have confidence in the long-term health and beauty of your outdoor space.
At our gardening service, we believe that this level of personalized service is essential to delivering the best possible results. By choosing us, you can enjoy all the benefits of having a dedicated, knowledgeable professional tending to your garden, providing exceptional care and helping you create a beautiful, thriving outdoor.
We understand that every garden has unique needs and requirements, so we offer flexible scheduling options to meet those needs. Some clients prefer weekly service, while others opt for bi-weekly or monthly visits. We work with each client to determine a schedule that works best for their garden.
It's worth noting that the frequency of service may vary depending on the season and the specific needs of your garden. For example, early in the season, your garden may require more frequent visits to establish healthy growth, while in August, maintenance needs may be lower. We will work with you to adjust the service schedule as needed to ensure your garden receives the care it needs to thrive.
Our goal is to provide customized, attentive service that meets the unique needs of your garden, so you can enjoy a beautiful, healthy outdoor space all year round.
As a company, we prioritize the health and safety of our staff and clients. In compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Guidelines and WCB requirements, our staff conduct a hazard assessment upon their first arrival at a property each season before commencing any labor. This assessment helps identify potential hazards on the property and allows us to take appropriate measures to prevent accidents or injuries. While this assessment may add to the time billed for the service, we believe that it is a crucial step in ensuring a safe and productive work environment. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter.
Please note that if there are significant changes to the property or work site during the season, our staff may conduct additional hazard assessments to address any new potential risks.
If you have any questions or concerns about this process, please don't hesitate to contact us. We are committed to providing excellent service while maintaining the highest standards of safety.
At The Wheelbarrow Gardener, we bill on an hourly basis. This means you only pay for the time actually spent working on your property, rather than a predetermined flat rate that may not accurately reflect the work required. Maintenance visits are billed at a minimum of 2 hours for the first visit and 1.5 hours for subsequent visits. Spring and fall cleanups are billed at a minimum of 2 hours. Any additional time beyond the minimum hours required, if applicable, is billed in 15-minute increments.
Billing on an hourly basis ensures that you only pay for the work that is actually done and that our garden care specialists are fairly compensated for their time. This approach also provides more flexibility and transparency in our billing process, as you can monitor how much time is being spent on your property and adjust your requests accordingly to stay within your budget.
Our gardening services are worth the investment because they offer a comprehensive, high-quality solution that goes beyond the basic tasks of maintaining a garden. Each of our clients is assigned a dedicated personal gardener for the entire season, ensuring consistency and personalized care for your specific gardening needs.
By choosing our services, you benefit from not only the expertise of our skilled and experienced staff, but also the peace of mind that comes with knowing that your property is being maintained in a safe and professional manner.
By investing in our services, you can trust that you are receiving excellent results and the peace of mind that comes with knowing that your gardening needs are being taken care of by experienced and responsible professionals. We believe that this level of service is worth the investment, and we strive to provide our clients with the best possible results that reflect the value of their investment

Landscape softscaping and hardscaping are two distinct components of outdoor design. Softscaping involves the incorporation of living elements, such as trees, shrubs, flowers, and other plants, to enhance the aesthetics and functionality of an outdoor space. Softscape features can be permanent, like trees and shrubs, or temporary, like seasonal flowers or potted plants. Softscaping focuses on creating a lush and vibrant environment, adding texture, color, and natural beauty to the landscape.
On the other hand, hardscaping refers to the non-living elements of the outdoor design, which include structures, pathways, and other features made from materials like stone, concrete, wood, or metal. Examples of hardscaping elements include patios, decks, retaining walls, walkways, fences, gates, and outdoor structures. Hardscaping provides structure, functionality, and organization to the outdoor space.
While softscaping and hardscaping are distinct, they often work hand in hand to create a balanced and harmonious outdoor environment.
Softscaping softens the hardscape elements, adding a natural touch and creating a cohesive and visually appealing landscape design.
As a company specializing in landscape softscaping, we focus on incorporating and maintaining the living elements of your outdoor space. We do not handle hardscaping projects directly, but we can work collaboratively with your chosen landscape hardscaper to ensure a seamless integration of softscape and hardscape features, resulting in a stunning and well-rounded outdoor area.
